On March 17, 2018, Summit's Senior Housing residents enjoyed a lively St. Patty's day thanks to 25 active Y volunteers ranging from teens to seniors! The teens came from Fountain Baptist Church once again. More than 60 residents enjoyed the greenery and table decor, and the festive atmosphere created by the dance performers from New Jersey theater Dance Ensemble of Summit. Overlook Hospital provided blood pressure screenings and more. The special lunch and desserts were donated by Runnells Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare, a continuing Togetherhood supporter. Arts & crafts for the event included Origami and adult coloring.
The event marked the third celebration luncheon hosted by Togetherhood at the center. The committee reaches out to community organizations and groups to present meaningful events and projects each year besides hosting monthly "spa events" for seniors at the center and partnering with SHIP (Summit Helping It’s People) to help feed those in need one Saturday every other month.
