The Summit Achieve Community Garden opened on Saturday, March 31st.

The Summit Achieve Community Garden (corner of Beauvoir Avenue) opened on Saturday, March 31st. If you are a Summit resident and are interested in gardening, please contact janet.smith@thesay.org to apply for a garden plot for the 2018 season.

The garden sits on a parcel of land donated for use by Overlook Medical Center, and was partially funded by a grant to the Summit Area YMCA from the Centers for Disease Control's ACHIEVE program. ACHIEVE stands for Action Communities for Health, Innovation & Environmental Change. Additional support is provided by grants from the Overlook Foundation, the Summit Garden Club, and the Junior League of Summit. The goal of the Summit ACHIEVE Community Garden is to grow organic vegetables, fruits, and herbs to promote healthy eating.
