Summit Area YMCA to Provide Free Swim Lessons to 2nd Graders

The Summit Area YMCA is a firm believer in water safety. According to the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, one in five people who die from drowning are children 14 and younger. At the Y, we believe all children should know how to swim and be safe in and around water. For this reason, we are offering a new 2nd Grade Learn to Swim Program for non-swimmers completely free of charge. In addition, children enrolled in the Summit YMCA swim program will receive a special certificate and stickers for each level they advance to. The Summit YMCA offers a wide variety of classes to members and community members of all ages, including but not limited to pre/post natal aqua fitness, parent-child water acclimation class (for autistic children), shallow and deep water arthritis and more!
