Dedicated to the healthy development of youth, the Summit Area YMCA strives to provide programs and services that provide individuals of all ages to learn, grow, and thrive. With the academic school year quickly coming up in September, the Summit YMCA will begin offering 6 Week Yoga Training Sessions for Sports Teams so that young athletes (ages 10-13 and 14-17) may not only learn a new way of healthy exercise, but also improve upon their existing skills to excel in the sport of the interest.
Young athletes can boost their skills with improved balance, strength, flexiblity and more. More professional and amateur sports teams are adding yoga as a regular component of their training. Breathing techniques can help calm nerves and increase focus. Other benefits of this yoga series include promoting team work and relationship building.
A minimum of 8/ max of 20 will guarantee you a yoga series tailored specifically to your sport! If you cannot meet the minimum, you can share a yoga series with other sports teams.
6 week series for 10-13 year olds and 14-17 year olds.
