Summit Community Garden Harvest

Dedicated gardeners in the Summit ACHIEVE Community Garden are celebrating a third very successful year of gardening! During 2015, the garden has once again flourished and contributed to the healthy diets of more than 47 Summit based families.

Located on the corner of Beauvoir Avenue, the Summit Community Garden is collaboration between the Summit Area YMCA and Overlook Medical Center, which owns the property. The garden offers novice and more experienced gardeners an opportunity to grow their own healthy vegetables, share time with families and neighbors, and be socially responsible in our community.

Gardeners, led by garden committee members Marian Glenn and Terri Hutchinson, contributed a total of 600 lbs. of freshly harvested vegetables to St. Teresa’s Wednesday morning food pantry.
If you are interested in obtaining a garden bed for 2016, please email for an application in January 2016. There is a nominal fee for the seasonal garden bed; financial assistance is also available.

The Summit Area YMCA is one of area’s leading 501c3 organizations. Our programs and services are open to all through our financial assistance programs made possible through the generosity of our members, donors, staff and partners. To help us help others, please make your donation today at
