Y Adventure Guides is a program offered by Ys in neighborhoods around the nation designed to strengthen the relationship between a parent and a child. Below is a detailed description of the program purpose and elements.

What is Adventure Guides?

As a member of YMCA Adventure Guides, you will have the opportunity to develop a stronger relationship with your child. Join a unique "Circle" with whom you’ll participate in activities like games, camping trips, ceremonies and family adventures

You and your child will take a journey of discovery and learning. Throughout your journey, the Adventure Guide compass points— family, nature, community, fun and the YMCA character development values – will provide a sense of direction and inspiration for activities.

As a member, you will be able to participate in larger scale activities such as weekend camp-outs, parties or parades. Conducting group meetings with your Circle fosters leadership, problem- solving, and group work skills with a sense of commitment to the larger community.

The Program is divided into three groups:

Father and Son
Father and Daughter
Father and Preschooler
Circle groups meet monthly lead by the circles navigator. The program runs from November - June.
