Babysitting Services at
Summit YMCA

Free to Family and Adult Members. Parent must be in the facility. This complimentary service is for the use of Summit Y family and adult members only.

Babysitting Availability:

Mornings (Infants 6 weeks of age to 5 years)

Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Evenings (Infants 6 weeks of age to 10 years)
Monday - Thursday, 4:00 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.
Friday, 4:00 to 8:00 pm

Saturdays (Infants 6 weeks of age to 10 years)
8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Sundays (infants 6 weeks of age to 10 years)
8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Bridge

  • DUPLICATE BRIDGE

    When:   Wednesdays
    Where:  Summit YMCA, 3rd Floor
    Time:    12:30pm-3:00pm
    Cost:     Free for all members
                 $7 per week for nonmembers

    Come enjoy a competitive game of duplicate bridge each week with your YMCA friends.  Experienced instructor will provide a quick lesson and be available to discuss hands.

Adult Enrichment

  • ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION EXERCISE PROGRAM

    This class is for participants who struggle with arthritis and want to keep moving and gain strength.

    Classes are 55 minutes long.

  • AIKIDO (AGES 18 AND OVER)
    Martial arts program.
  • ADULT KNITTING

    Open knitting with instructor.  Learn to knit or work on a project.

ESL Classes

Small classes taught by an experienced teacher.

Spring 1 session runs from March 2 - April 5.

Events and Day Trips

  • SENIOR PROM

    When:  Sunday April 19
    Where:  SUMMIT YMCA, Auditorium
    Cost:  FREE
    Time:  1:00PM - 4:00PM

    Dining, dancing, door prizes and capture those wonderful memories of yesteryear or start new ones.  Come in your party clothes ready to have a wonderful time.

  • LUNCH AND LEARN | CARING FOR ARTHRITIS NATURALLY

    Join Dr. Karim Faris for an informative session on ways to deal with arthritis through exercise, nutrition and chiropractic care.  A light lunch will be provided.

    Lunch is 1 hour long.

  • DAY TRIP TO NEW YORK

    Day trip to Harlem.  The trip includes roundtrip private coach bus transportation from Summit, private tour of the Apollo theater, 3 course sit down lunch at Sylivia's Restaurant, on/off bus tour of  famous sites and neighborhoods in Harlem with private tour guide Justin Ferate.

    Book discussion for "The Boys In The Boat" by Daniel James Brown.  Open to all.

    Learn tips on maintaining and improving memory as we age.

    Learn the importance of "mindfulness" and how it can improve your overall health.

A CANCER RECOVERY PROGRAM AT THE Y

The Summit and Berkeley Heights YMCAs are now offering LIVESTRONG, at the YMCA, a free small group exercise and recovery program designed for adult cancer survivors.

Mah Jongg

    Where:  Summit YMCA, 3rd Floor
    Time:    12:30 PM - 3:00 PM
    Cost:     Free to members
                 $10 to non-members for 8 week session.

    Join your Summit YMCA friends each Friday for an afternoon of MAH JONGG. Connect with others and engage your mind with this fun, intelligent game that requires your concentration. Please bring your 2014 Mah Jongg card.

Adult Sports

  • ADULT BASKETBALL (AGES 18 & UP)

    Unleash the athlete in you. Join our competitive Adult Co-Ed Basketball League Age 18+ where all teams are promised 8 games and entry into playoffs with professional referees, a team uniform and a chance to win 1st place team prizes and/or league MVP.

  • ADULT SOCCER (AGES 18 & UP)
    Pick up games.
    Members only.
    Hubbard Gym
  • ADULT TOUCH TENNIS

    Indoor tennis using children racquet and soft balls.  This is a low impact class.
