Healthy Family Fun For All Healthy Kids Day 2023

A Fun-filled Journey to Foster Healthy Habits in Kids at Springfield Community Pool

Get ready to embrace the summer sun and celebrate the annual Healthy Kids Day® brought to you by the Summit Area YMCA (SAY). We are thrilled to announce this year’s event will be held at the Springfield Community Pool, where we continue our mission to inspire children and their families to discover the value of healthy lifestyles, emphasizing the significance of nutritious eating, physical activity, mental resilience, and the development of lifelong healthy habits.

This year, on Saturday, July 22, 2023, we invite you to join us and honor the 31st anniversary of Healthy Kids Day®! An array of entertaining events, games, activities, open swim, sports, wholesome refreshments, prizes, safety demonstrations, local vendors, and community partners are lined up for a delightful and educational day. And the best part is, it’s all free and open to the community!

The pool will be open to our guests throughout the day! We encourage you to fully enjoy this facility and make precious memories with your family and friends. The Springfield Community Pool will remain open until 7:00 PM.

Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative aiming to enhance health and well-being for kids and families, celebrated at over 1,500 Ys across the country by more than a million participants. When children are away from school, they can face challenges that prevent them from reaching their full potential. The Y seeks to utilize Healthy Kids Day as a springboard to help kids maintain active minds and bodies during the summer, fostering habits they can continue into the school year and beyond.

Here’s to another fantastic Healthy Kids Day®! We look forward to seeing you on July 22, 2023.

In 1886, we were founded as the Young Men’s Christian Association, but today, we are The Y. An association that values, and is made stronger by, its diverse people. We stand for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility — For a better us. We are committed to creating equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, age, disability, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive culture in which our four core values — responsibility, honesty, caring and respect — are integral to everyday operations.

Each year, as one of the area’s leading 501(c)3 charitable organizations, the Summit Area YMCA serves more than 15,000 individuals with our free and fee-based programs and services in an area spanning the New Jersey communities of Berkeley Heights, Gillette, Millburn, New Providence, Short Hills, Springfield, Stirling and Summit. Our history is rooted in working side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
