LOL Comedy Event
In the devastating wake of Super Storm Sandy, laughter proved to be the best medicine for helping to build a stronger community when the Summit Area YMCA hosted its “Laugh Out Loud – An Evening of Comic Relief” a fundraising event with comedians Adam Sank, J-L Cauvin, and Robin Fox.
Over 150 guests, sponsors, volunteers, and staff of the Y rallied together for dessert, drinks and live auction to support all the Y does to accomplish its mission to promote healthy living, nurture youth development, and inspire a sense of caring and social responsibility among neighbors.
The venue was moved at the last minute to the Elks Club after power was not restored to the Summit YMCA. The special event successfully raised funds for the much needed Y Cares Financial Assistance scholarship program for key programs such as Summer Camp, the 7th Grade Initiative, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, and Military Support & Outreach.
