LAUGH OUT LOUD: AN EVENING OF COMEDY
On Saturday, November 16, the Summit Area YMCA hosted Laugh Out Loud (LOL): An Evening of Comic Relief, a fundraising event that was held at The Grand Summit Hotel. The comedy fundraiser featured New York City comedians Adam Sank, who hails from Summit, Bryan Scott McFadden, and Ophira Eisenberg.
This year, the Y raised over $124,000 through the event, which is 50% more than last year. The event drew nearly 250 attendees who enjoyed an evening of comedy interspersed with a live auction of gifts generously donated by local vendors. Additionally, the Y offered opportunities for guests to donate to Y scholarships that include Summer Camp for underprivileged children, Memberships for military families, Memberships for 7th graders, and the LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program for cancer patients.
The Summit Area YMCA is grateful for the generous support of Laugh Out Loud sponsors, including Lead Sponsors: Investors Bank and Merck Pharmaceuticals, as well as Event Sponsors: Smythe Volvo, Sum It Up Lacrosse, Sysco, and Batavia Café. The event committee, led by Charlotte Bashforth as Event Chair and Laura Gump who is on the Board of Trustees, along with the contribution of over 60 volunteers and staff added to the overall success of the event.
